Submissions

Below you will find a selection of the Germany-wide submissions we have received so far. These are subjectively experienced boundary violations. Limits vary from person to person. What one person perceives as hurtful or invasive, someone else may see as a clumsy compliment or joke.

The situations described here were sent to us because at least one of the people involved experienced them as discriminatory. We would like to offer an opportunity to share this experience publicly in a protected space. Our goal is to promote awareness of situations that can lead to individual boundary violations. This would be a first step towards respectful cooperation.

Important note:

We strive to show as representative a selection of submissions as possible. However, in order to best guarantee the anonymity of those affected and perpetrators, we may decide not to share some content publicly at first. There are also submissions that go beyond personal feelings about a situation. This includes, for example, feedback on a case that has already been processed by several departments. We try to follow up on these submissions. However, in order to protect everyone involved, we reserve the right not to publish the feedback. Nevertheless, every contribution is welcome, as in addition to further evaluation, we would like to create internal statistics in which all submissions are taken into account.

Patient (approx. 80 years old) on the ward says to me as the ward doctor: “I haven’t seen a doctor here for a week.”

Me: “Yes, I am the doctor and I visited you every day.” The patient and his daughter laugh together.
